2) Vintage electronic equipment for 'beginners'

Safety first
As with all vintage electronics, please make sure that the item which you want to plug into the mains socket is safe. Although Classic Computer Shop checks all items on basic user safety, you should inspect your purchase too before plugging it in because (most) items are used and old. Furthermore never leave vintage electronic equipment plugged in when you don't use it, to minimize the risk of a fire hazard. Make sure that devices and parts which need to be grounded are grounded to avoid electric shock hazard. Extra attention is required during repairs; disconnect power whenever possible, discharge any CRT and any capacitor with high capacity. Use an isolation transformer when power is required during repairs.


3) Condition of items

Condition explained
Actual item condition can be found on the item page. Classic Computer Shop puts care, expertise and honesty in the item condition description and photos because the price of an item is related to the condition.

Classic Computer Shop offers many items as untested, because of several reasons. For example some items have so little value that it's not worth investing the time testing them as a business. A few items, especially some very old computers and monitors, have a high risk of causing problems during testing. Lack of testing equipment and/or knowledge is also common. It's not possible to test these untested items as yet for you. If you buy such an untested item, then you buy it as is.

In any case; all items are visually inspected on technical and cosmetic condition before sale on this webshop, including untested items.

Testing at pick up
You can usually test a previously tested item at Classic Computer Shop in case of pick up.

Storage
Classic Computer Shop stores all items in plastic containers where no dust or other dirt can come in and these plastic containers are stored in a dry and smoke free environment. Some used items are vacuum cleaned and/or spray cleaned to remove the worst amount of dust and/or dirt before they are advertised over here. Despite this some used items need to be cleaned (internal) more thoroughly before use, this is inherent of the classic computer hobby.


4) VAT (Value Added Tax | Nederlands: BTW | Deutsch: MwSt)

All prices on this webshop are including 21% VAT (excluding books, which include 9% VAT), but businesses within EU (except The Netherlands), consumers outside EU and businesses outside EU only have to pay the total amount excluding VAT.

Invoice including 21% VAT for EU consumers and Dutch businesses
Consumers with an EU invoice address, businesses and other organizations with a Dutch VAT code receive an invoice including 21% VAT after ordering within 24h. If you want to order as a business, then you have to fill in your VAT code at the checkout page (otherwise you will be treated as a consumer).

Invoice excluding VAT for businesses within EU (except The Netherlands)
EU businesses and other organizations from outside The Netherlands can qualify for an intracommunal delivery. This means that the invoice is VAT free. To qualify for a VAT free invoice you have to fill in your VAT code at the checkout page (otherwise you will be treated as a consumer). The VAT free total amount, which you pay, will then be automatically calculated. After receipt of your order Classic Computer Shop will send you a VAT free invoice within 24h.

Invoice excluding VAT for consumers and businesses outside EU
A VAT free invoice is applicable for export from the EU to non-EU customers. Total amount to pay excluding VAT will be automatically calculated at the checkout after selecting your non-EU country of choice. Your customs might charge VAT and import taxes when your order arrives in your country. These are your full, own responsibility.
After receipt of your order Classic Computer Shop will send you a VAT free invoice within 24h.

Shipping to other countries on request. Mention your shipping address as well as the item(s) which you want to buy in your request. Classic Computer Shop takes a decision whether your request will be fulfilled or not.

Minimum order amount for shipping to the U.K. is 135 GBP (ca. € 150,- at current FX rate) excluding shipping costs and VAT due to a specific VAT rule implemented since Brexit. 

Orders will be shipped to the (alternative shipping) address as registered on the website.

Shipping costs
The shipping costs as displayed in the shopping cart are only an estimate based on the location of your IP address. You have to select your preferred options at the checkout page to determine the right amount of costs.

Combined shipping
Before ordering multiple heavy (total weight >20kg) and/or large items (total volume >100l), Classic Computer Shop recommends to first ask for an actual shipping costs quote, as it can be different from the quoted shipping costs on the checkout page which are an estimate in this case. The actual shipping costs determined and listed on the invoice by Classic Computer Shop are the shipping costs which you have to pay.

Shipping services and packaging
Usually Classic Computer Shop sends orders with the economy services of DHL, DPD or Postnl. These parcel services usually outsource deliveries to other parcel services outside The Netherlands. If you have specific wishes such as a priority express service, then please let Classic Computer Shop know in advance by sending an email.

To reduce Classic Computer Shop's foot print on the environment, Classic Computer Shop tries to use used packaging and packaging materials, in good condition, as much as possible for standard and premium shipping. ESD sensitive items are always packed in anti-static bags or foil.

You can choose out of various shipping options at the checkout page:

  • Standard shipping: high grade packing standards + used packaging if available + tracking code (all parcels & mail to abroad)

  

  • Premium shipping: high priority handling + high grade packing standards + new packaging + packaging sealed with duct tape + fragile symbols on packaging + tracking code (parcels & mail) + no delivery to your neighbours (only in Netherlands) + insurance that covers the complete value of the order against damage or loss


Tracking codes with instructions about how to track will be sent by email directly after shipping.

Delivery time
Your order will be shipped within 24 hours (during Monday - Saturday), after receipt of payment confirmation by the payment provider or bank. The estimated delivery time for orders within The Netherlands is 2 working days, within other E.U. member states less than 10 working days and to the U.S. less than 20 working days, after shipping.
If you have specific wishes such as a priority express service, then please let Classic Computer Shop know in advance by sending an email.

Shipping during national holidays and/or vacation
Shipping of your order will only be delayed during national holidays and/or vacation in case it is explicitly mentioned on the home page of this website. If nothing is mentioned then the normal delivery times apply.


Local pickup
Pickup only for special large and/or valuable items. An appointment needs to be made. Send Classic Computer Shop an email for an appointment with your proposal for a date and time.

 

8) Payment

Invoice
After ordering you will receive an invoice within 24h. For information about VAT (BTW) click here.

Payment term
Payment is expected to be received by Classic Computer Shop within 24 hours after receipt of your invoice, also with Bank Transfer Prepayment. Classic Computer Shop can't reserve purchases any longer than 24 hours without payment. Of course you can also pay immediately by using one of the methods explained here.

In case you have access to internet banking at a German, Austrian, Dutch, Swiss, Italian, Spanish, Belgium or Polish bank, then you also have the option of paying via Klarna Sofort / Pay Now (formerly known as Sofort banking). During the order process you can choose for 'Online bank transfer (Sofort)' as payment method. This option adds 1.8% to the total item amount. By continuing the order process you'll be led to the secure Klarna Sofort internet banking environment. It takes ca. 1-10 working days (dependent on chosen payment method) before funds are transferred and received by Classic Computer Shop. Your order however will be shipped within 24 hours (during Monday - Saturday), after receipt of payment confirmation by the payment provider or bank.
