About this specific offer
This offer consists of an UNISYS MDP 56052-Z, a very solid, durable and expandable desktop pc. The pc was manufactured in 1995, Ireland. This pc is completely standard and can be customized for your needs. To help you with adding options, a system board overview diagram can be found on top of the drives bracket. This computer can be used for DOS retro gaming. It can also be used for most legacy business applications from the 90's that require MS-DOS, Windows 3.x or Windows 95. Whatever you look for, this UNISYS pc has more than enough room for your needs: you can add a 5.25'' FDD and a CD-ROM drive, a sound card, a better PCI graphics card, an ethernet adapter etc. The pc is equipped with a VGA output and can also display a nice picture on a conventional 4:3 flatscreen monitor. It also has a switchable power supply, so it can operate in various regions, including Europe and the United States.

Pre-installed is Windows 95 (Dutch).

A matching screen is included, the UNISYS EVG-400-COL XGA color 14 inch CRT monitor. The VGA cable is detachable. External controls for brightness and contrast are present. This monitor was manufactured in December 1994. The monitor accepts 100-240V AC. Includes tilt and swivel foot.

For input there's the UNISYS KB-6923 PS/2 keyboard with international QWERTY layout. Includes adjustable feet. The mouse is a PS/2 type Logitech M-S34.

This is an original 1995 pc system, hard to find these days!

Technical
This pc was last tested at 20 May 2019.
 
During the test;
 
- Computer could be powered on several times.
 
- Computer stayed powered on for at least 3 hours.


- Computer did not make any unusual noises, fan worked fine.

- Computer displayed a stable, contrastful, bright, sharp and straight picture without distortions on the included monitor. The monitor had to be set to maximum contrast and brightness for an optimal picture.

- POST displayed 16 MB RAM with empty clock battery related errors. The BIOS could not be opened. The Dallas battery will need to be replaced (a new one will need to be soldered in the system board).

- Beeper worked.

- Computer could boot to Windows 95 by holding the ESC key.

- Hard disk read and wrote fine.

- Keyboard and mouse ports worked fine.

- All keys of the keyboard worked fine.

- Mouse worked fine.

- Disk drive insert and eject mechanism worked fine.

- Disk drive read fine.

- All potentiometers and buttons on the monitor worked fine.

- No battery leakage inside the pc could be found.

- No rust in or on the pc could be found.

- Case could be opened and closed like it should.

- No further defects and/or faults were identified.
 
- No further tests were performed.


N.B.: the bands and distortions on the screen from the pictures result from the difference between the vertical refresh rate of the monitor and the shutter rate of the camera. In reality you don't see this.
