HP Vectra RS/25C pc.

General info
The HP Vectra RS/25C is part of the Vectra RS series (first HP tower pc) and is more specifically the top of the line model, introduced in 1988. This machine was designed as a powerful and reliable workstation and server, to meet the demands of engineers, researchers, accountants and multi user groups. Equipped with cache memory, a for the time fast CPU and ESDI (Enhanced Small Device Interface) hard drive controller, this computer ensured high productivity.
About this specific offer
This awesome 386 pc is clean and ready to be used (without having to install all sorts of drivers, which are already installed) with a flatscreen VGA monitor and regular PC AT keyboard. This is not an ordinary consumer oriented 386 pc,
but a corporate grade pc with a very solid metal chassis and long lasting Japanese capacitors on the motherboard and in the power supply. I have pretty much detailed this pc, which took several hours of work, so it's clean outside and inside. I have equipped it with a specially made lithium clock battery pack, so that all BIOS settings are saved for years to come. Furthermore I have formatted both hard drives (no bad sectors), installed an operating system, installed matching drivers and tested pretty much everything necessary. Whatever you may look for, a pc for retro gaming or for running an industrial application, I'm sure it can handle it for a long time to come, if you maintain it well like I did. If you're looking at this, it's very likely that this is the classic pc that you really want. It has everything going for it. The pc is also upgraded with various options you may appreciate, such as an ethernet adapter and a Creative Sound Blaster 16 card. Sure you can find a cheap DOS pc elsewhere, but you'll have a very hard time finding something like this, which is ready to be used, clean, in excellent condition and hence unique. To sum up; this pc is ready for service again.

This HP Vectra RS/25C is a model D2020A and used to have configuration D2063A, which means that the factory RAM was 1 MB and factory hard disk was a 150 MB ESDI. During its economical life it was upgraded to 10 MB RAM and 2x 310 MB type 46 ESDI hard disk (largest hard disk available from HP for this computer). The pc was manufactured in October 1990, France. I have replaced the original graphics card (from Headland) with a more usable Diamond SpeedStar Pro 1 MB, added a genuine Creative Sound Blaster 16 audio card and 3Com ethernet adapter. Costs nor effort were saved to upgrade it to a more usable pc, compatible with most DOS games and applications. The pc has some extra slots free for additional ISA and HP proprietary cards. On the service panel you can find a schematic with the jumper and DIP switch settings, which you might need if you want to change something of the configuration. It also has a switchable power supply, so it can operate in various regions, including Europe and the United States. Last but not least, the computer stands on a large foot which gives it extra stability.

A copy of the original setup and utilities disk, on a brand new Verbatim teflon protected disk (this disk lasts extremely long), is also included. Pre-installed are MS-DOS 6.22 (Dutch), Windows For Workgroups 3.11 (Dutch), drivers for graphics card, audio card, NIC, mouse and a TCP/IP stack from Microsoft.
